FROM RETURNEES, NEW-SPREMBERGER & THOSE WHO LOVE THEIR HOMETOWN

Jakob Handrick

“I can easily reach the Craft Baker on foot, just like the spree, many authorities, and everything else that is important to me as an entrepreneur.”

“Even when I was at school, I was fascinated by class trips. I am proud to have evolved my start-up into a specialist tour operator. With a wide variety of national and international travel destinations such as Hamburg, Paris and Rome, we inspire teachers, students and parents throughout Germany.
For us, not only the planning of the trip is part of the business, but also the parents’ evening, the selection of the insurance and the payment is made directly to us. We offer individual trips for all, plan down to the last detail and are available for our customers – that’s what makes us who we are!”

Benjamin und Antje Schorg

“In Spremberg you can shape things, get involved with ideas and commitment and make plans come true.”

Shortly before their first daughter was born, Antje and Benjamin Schorg were faced with the decision to move away from Spremberg. But the network of family, friends and the conditions for children would have in Spremberg persuaded them to stay here.
Today – 10 years later – Antje is self-employed with her own cosmetics business and has filled a niche with natural cosmetics that did not exist in the city. In addition to his job, Benjamin has achieved organizational consulting on all aspects of digitization.
Together, both are involved in many areas of the city and use the numerous opportunities that exist to implement their ideas for the city.

Sebastian Schulz

“In my free time, I enjoy the wide range of freetime activities that our region offers.”

“During my training as a restaurant specialist in a renowned 4-star hotel, my qualification as an IHK-certified wine specialist and at numerous wineries, I have gained a lot of experience on the subject of enjoyment. I would like to have this experience in my small but fine vinotheque pass it on and ensure particularly enjoyable highlights in our region.”

Katharina Valentin

“Spremberg has lots of greenery, a beautiful park with a great history. In the Lange Straße you can go shopping. No matter whether household, clothes, books or whatever else you need. Markets are always within walking distance.”

Since May 2017, people have been baking, modelling, creating and of course enjoying in Sellessen, a district of the beautiful Spremberg. Something very special came about when Sandra Jäckel (master confectioner) and Katharina Valentin (hotel manager & sugar artist) decided to open a confectionery with a café.

Sandra Jäckel

“The open-air stage is an Highlight with the many events. Also the cinema, outdoor pool, bike paths, lakes, gastronomy and events for children.
It’s a perfect place for family, and this is mostly rare for small towns.

WELCOME FROM THE MAYOR

Diversity, quality of life, joy of living, nature, safety and proximity are just a few of the reasons that are repeatedly mentioned when asked about the reasons for returning to our small, fine and lovely city. The same goes for those who were lucky enough to be able to stay here and for everyone who rediscovered Spremberg. Read the short portraits shown on this page about staying here, coming back and arriving. Maybe you’ll write a chapter yourself next year? We would all be very happy about that! Be welcome in Spremberg, today and in the future. We look forward to you!
